TimeTo™ for Skype users
If you already use Skype (available free from www.skype.com)
to make free or very inexpensive phone calls to anywhere
in the World, you can use TimeTo™ to initiate
Skype and SkypeOut calls.
There are three ways:
- From any view, use the Skype Call button in the Dial command
(from the Tools menu, or press Shift+A or the Dial
icon on the toolbar) to Skype the phone number
in the highlighted item, or to simply launch Skype.
- Use triggers to
launch Skype or SkypeOut calls from any item. You
can also schedule calls for a particular time,
and then when the time arrives, TimeTo™ will
trigger the event and ask for you confirmation
before proceeding
to connect the call. For more information, please read
about Skype within triggers.
- Specify a Skype or SkypeOut address in the Also
Dial option in the Alarm window of any item's properties,
to have TimeTo™ start a Skype call based
upon the alarm time for any item. You can
set alarms based upon a number of minutes before
or after the beginning or end an event, and so
you can thus program TimeTo™ to call your
cell phone via Skype to alarm you as to the beginning
of a meeting, or to remind you that you have been
working on a certain task for a certain amount
of time.
WARNING: You cannot make calls to an emergency number or emergency service (e.g. 211, 911, 999)
using Skype. To perform calls of this type please
make sure to use a landline telephone or a cellular/mobile
phone.
