USE TIMEWISE ON WINDOWS AND MACINTOSH COMPUTERS AT THE SAME TIME
-----------------------------------------
If you have a mix of Windows and Macintosh computers in your organization, you can install our multi-platform edition of TimeWise (currently in successful beta testing) so that users can share information on both platforms simultaneously. The combination can also include DOS machines.
To have all users sharing the same TimeWise information simultaneously, all you need is a server running a cross-platform compatible network operating system (such as Windows NT Server or Netware) and multi-user licenses to TimeWise for the platforms you wish to use.
If you would like to test this for yourself, contact info@timewise.net or contact us at the telephone number listed below.

LATEST FREE PATCHES TO TIMEWISE AVAILABLE
----------------------------------------
You can get free updates to the latest maintenance release of TimeWise from our Web site. Installing patches will not harm your existing TimeWise information in any way. However, depending on your situation, it may or may not be worth the bother... a summary of the latest tweaks appears on our patch Web page ( http://www.davidberman.com/timewise/patch.htm ) so you can decide whether to patch your TimeWise.

Don't forget that you can register for automatic e-mail notification whenever a new patch is posted by clicking a button on the patch page.

TIMEWISE MANUALS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE IN ACROBAT PDF
------------------------------------------
We all like having the information we need at our fingertips. To make it easier for you to find TimeWise information, we have put our 300 pages plus of printed manuals online in Adobe Acrobat PDF format. Using the free Acrobat Reader, you can download the manuals to:
- make the manuals available to everyone in your organization, on their desktop
- print additional copies of portions of the manual on your laser printer
- use Acrobat's find command to search the manuals for what you want

As well, the manuals are "byteserved" which means that you can navigate the manuals conveniently directly within your Web browser.

TIMEWISE SLIDE SHOW NOW LIVE ON OUR WEB SITE
------------------------------------------
Sometimes it's easier to assess software through a presentation about its features and benefits, rather than examining the program itself. That's why we created the TimeWise slide show some months ago...and now our slide show is available in Acrobat PDF format (as well as the original PowerPoint), byteserved so you can view it right on our Web site without having to download it (assuming you have the Acrobat plug-in for your Web browser installed)... or download it to your computer to view at your leisure with any free Acrobat Reader.
Whether you prefer Acrobat or Powerpoint format, the TimeWise slide show introduces you to the most popular features and benefits of using TimeWise every day to help plan a healthy profit into every project.
To see the slide show, go to http://www.davidberman.com/timewise/demoshow.htm .

TECHNICAL TIP: INVOICE PAGE LENGTHS
----------------------------------------
Are you having trouble with the last line or two of the first page invoices generated by TimeWise undesirably appearing on the second page? Some printers do not have the same printable area that TimeWise desires...you can fix this very easily by changing the Page Length setting from 60 to 58 in Setup:Preferences:Forms:Invoices&Proposals:Page Length. Do note that if you are using more than one invoice and proposal format, you must make the change in each one.
You can also use this setting if you wish to have TimeWise print invoices or proposals on pages that are not letter-sized (such as a half-height invoice continuous form).

SHARE YOUR TIMEWISE TIP AND WIN FREE SUPPORT
----------------------------------------
Have you got a technical tip to share with other TimeWise users? Send it in...if published, we'll give you three months of free personal telephone support.

YOU ASKED US: MODELLING NEW ESTIMATES FROM PAST PROJECTS
-----------------------------------------
Question: How can I use past projects tracked in TimeWise as a financial or work plan model for future projects?

Answer: Use the New Job or Estimate command to start a new estimate, selecting the Clone option. This allows you to build the estimate based on your choice of the estimated or actual charges from any past project.
Clone from an estimate if you wish to start from a similar job you estimated well in the past. Clone from a job if you want to be certain not to repeat past estimating errors. Either way you can reach back as far as you wish...TimeWise will automatically create a new estimate based on the anticipated or actual charges from the earlier project, but using today's rates. Once you have cloned you can use the Edit/Delete Charge or the Time Charge and Item Charge commands to add, edit, or delete charges to further tailor the estimate.
As with all estimates, once you turn the estimate into a job TimeWise will print a Work Plan on the job ticket. The Work Plan helps your staff stick to the plan, detailing how much each activity and material you anticipate for the job.

We enjoy the opportunity to talk with our users. Continue to send us your questions and we'll keep sending you our answers! Let us know how you think we can improve TimeWise and how you have integrated our system into your organization.
